About the event

A space for working mothers who are ready to think about what’s next.

You have spent years building a career. Then life happened.

Children. Family. Responsibilities. Choices.

Perhaps your career took a pause. You stepped away for a while, or you are still working, but the version of work you once knew no longer fits the woman you have become.

This is a space to pause, reflect, and explore what could come next without having to figure it all out alone.

YOU ARE MORE THAN YOUR CAREER GAP. A career break can change your CV. It doesn’t erase your experience, your capabilities, your ambitions, or everything you have learnt along the way.

Returning to work can bring questions:

  • Where do I even begin?

  • Do I still have what it takes?

  • What kind of work do I want now?

  • How do I balance work and family this time around?

  • How do I rebuild my confidence without pretending the gap never happened?

  • And sometimes, the hardest part is having a safe space to talk about these questions honestly.

That’s what Impact Circles Launchpad is about. This is a small, facilitated circle for mothers navigating work, career, and identity alongside family life. Our facilitators are mothers who continue to work in the corporate sector.

They understand first-hand the realities of:

  • returning to work after a break

  • managing competing priorities

  • rebuilding confidence

  • navigating career decisions as a mother

  • figuring out what success means now

  • making space for yourself while caring for others

This isn't a lecture or a job-placement programme. And you don't need to arrive with a five-year career plan. You simply need to be willing to explore what's next.

WHAT WILL WE EXPLORE?

Over 6 sessions, we will create space for conversation, reflection, and practical exploration.

Session 1 - IDENTITY RESET

Focus: Reclaiming professional identity

The problem: After several years away from paid employment, many mothers begin to define themselves primarily through their caregiving role. The longer the gap, the easier it becomes to internalise:  “I am just a mum now.” / “My professional identity is outdated.” / “Other people have moved ahead.” / “I don't have anything relevant anymore.” / “Who would hire me after all these years?”

Objective:

Participants will:

  • reconnect with their professional identity;

  • identify strengths, capabilities and values that remain relevant;

  • separate professional identity from job title;

  • recognise capabilities developed during the career break;

  • begin shifting from an identity of “returner” to “professional with experience.”

Key concepts: Professional identity includes expertise; problem-solving ability; leadership; decision-making; relationship building; resilience; communication; commercial understanding; adaptability; learning agility; values and subject matter expertise.

YOU WON'T BE DOING IT ALONE. Impact Circles Launchpad brings together a small group of mothers who are navigating similar questions.

  • You will have space to REFLECT

  • CONNECT your experiences, choices, and aspirations.

  • LEARN with other mothers who understand the realities of this stage of life.

  • EXPLORE perspectives and practical tools from facilitators who have lived and continue to navigate these challenges themselves.

  • ACT on all possibilities without the pressure to have all the answers.

  • Leave with greater CLARITY about your next step.
